Hi,
I'd like to import several certificates on my 7710.
With other S60 Symbian devices like my 6630, N80 or N8, I open them (as binary coded .cer file) with the file manager and I'm done.
With this S90 device, the file manager knows it's a certificate but when I try to open it, I get an "unknown file format" error.

The 7710 was based on Series 90, originating from Symbian Crystal, and based on Symbian OS 7.0s. The S60 phones you listed were all based on newer Symbian OS versions (8.x or above) and the N8 was based on Symbian ^3, i.e. a system version past 9.x which completely broke binary compatibility. Therefore I'm afraid that certificate file format might have been completely different with the .cer extension being the only similarity.

I've tried a Nokia 3650 and it has the same problem, so it really seems to be a Symbian 6/7 related problem.

Either that, or simply differences between Symbian platforms.

Since the beginning, Nokia was developing Series 80/90 and Series 60 completely separately. They never were compatible with each other and the differences were much deeper than just the UI. So it actually wouldn't be surprising if also the certificate format was different.
