Use, copy and distribute at will as long as you dont charge nor change anything.
This does not give you the right to reverse engineer, decompile, extract, use, copy, sell or distibute isolated sub-components.

It transforms numbers (up to 15 digits long) to a written text format.

Following languages, genders and formats are supported:

Formats:

(*) Means beta stage, not yet reviewed/approved by native speaker.
Reviewed languages have separate MIDlet for independent/isolated (from other languages) launch.

It can help you:
Extend/Spell - learn numbers in foreign languages.

Spell - speak a number over a very noisy voice line to a foreign listener.

OK

Searched for UPLOAD instructions (in the DOWNLOAD section) but found none.
What is the proper procedure to donate/upload some piece of software to the "Downloads section" ?

You can contact Michal Jerz, the administrator of this site, see Contact. You usually have to email him with a new freeware program, if it is not downloadable from a website.

OK

I will package a zip with 2.01 (Trillions, Billions, Milllions are mispelled in 2.00) and a readme.txt and mail this address to see if it is found suitable for inclusion on the download section.

I hope to have ES (Spanish) support soon.
After EN, PT and ES the plan is FR, IT, DE and RU.

Guys !
I see that the older Extensor200 file is being download much more often than the newer 2.01 version file.

It would not be fair to make a new thread with each new version just to make sure people get the latest one.

Suggestions ?

I would appreciate if some native speaker of FR, ES and EN could validate my program's number spellings and conversions

I haven't tried it yet, but I like the concept of it although I have a suggestion (if it's included then please ignore):

in your exapmle 400002001
can you make it read numbers seperately "Four, Zero, Zero, .. etc"
instead of "Four Hundred Millions Two Thousand and One"
as I think that would be usefull to write or use the number

as well as would it be possible of reading numbers from the contacts.. i.e. when you press a contact you get an option of reading the number out loud!

Note that this app does not SPEAK the numbers outloud (with sound) - it surely would not be 10K in size with 5 languages and 2 genders supported -, it rather WRITES them in the way you are expected to in a bank check.
I have often made mistakes writing ammounts in checks in my own native language.
Now with increased European mobility - French native working in Germany, English native retired in Portugal - the situations where someone has to write a check (with legal consequences) in a NON-native language must be frequent.
Spelling the ammount as you suggested "Four, Zero, Zero, .. etc" is trivial and can be done with little effort.
I can see situations where it could be usefull: spelling a number to a foreign interluctor over a noisy voice line. It would be more reliable to say "F*ur Zer* Zero" than "Four*und*ed" (* is noise/lost voels)

The second bit (contacts access) is much more difficcult, especialy without sacrificing MIDP1 (broadest possible mobile audience) compatibilty.

Thanks for the suggestion, keep them coming.

I would be most happy to know that someone has used my program in a real life - non demo to friends - situation (that's why I wrote it in the first place).

hAnDyGUY:: when I include your suggestion I can mention your name in the "About" screen. If you want this PM me whith what (real name ?) I should put there.
