			<description>

<u>Quote from the first post:</u> Nokia has announced Nokia Hello, see Nokia Conversations. Excerpt:NFC research project: Nokia Hello
GLOBAL and #8211; The research team at NRC Tampere today announce the forthcoming availability of Nokia Hello. Using the NFC (Near-Field Communications) chips embedded in recent and upcoming devices such as the Nokia C7, users can touch phones briefly in order to exchange a range of greetings such as and #8216;Good morning and #8217;, and #8216;Good afternoon and #8217; and even to pass on tea and coffee preferences. The team working on the project estimate that the need for speech interactions with work colleagues could be eliminated entirely by 2015. Excellent news for those working in multilingual environments or who despise their workmates.

			<title>Nokia E7 profile cheduler / automatic energy saver mode (2 replies)</title>
			<link>http://my-symbian.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=43678</link>
			<description>

<u>Quote from the first post:</u> Hi all.

I tried to search program that would do the below, but didn't find one.
Does someone know if such program even exists?

- Phone would get out from energy saving mode when it is plugged in
 - At the moment it asks me if I want to get out from energy saver mode, but it would be nice if it would be automatic to both directions.

- would let me choose what happens in energy saver mode (wifi, bluetooth off/on, etc.)

- profile cheduler:
 - would go to energy saving mode (and turn wifi, bluetooth.. off) according to time of day (for example during nigh time, when I sleep).

I have found profile cheduler and nokia situations that sort of do the profile stuff, but not all of it....

<u>Quote from the first post:</u> There is a way to study the internals of your Symbian phone by simple touch of a fingertip:

http://28.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lwrzfmDYRd1r6xa3po1_400.jpg

This app will allow you to scratch through your phone and reveal the electronics, battery, SIM-card etc. There is also some funny add-ons you wont find inside a real phone though, just to spice up the app a bit

It works in Symbian^1, Symbian^3, Symbian Anna and Symbian Belle phones and has been implemented using QT. However, unfortunately keyboard-based Symbian phones have been excluded from this version due to lack of teardown-photos.

Go check it out!...

<u>Quote from the first post:</u> I'm looking for a good video recording application for an N8 with the following features:
- Fps selection: Anna update brought a switch from 25 to 30fps, but what is really needed is 23.976, 29,97 and 25 maybe to allow for use as a secondary camera.
- Exposure lock: Anna update brought exposure control, not sure if lock works?
- Some control over saturation and contrast - Camera Pro had this?

<u>Quote from the first post:</u> Nokia has announced Nokia Screen Reader, see Nokia Conversations. Excerpt:Nokia rolls out new screen reader
LONDON, United Kingdom and #8211; Nokia has announced a screen reader this week at Nokia World 2011, in addition to a number of accessibility apps. These new products matter because they will make it easier for people with disabilities to use Nokia devices.

The software supplier for the Nokia Screen Reader is Code Factory, based in Spain. The CEO Eduard Snchez describes the situation:

For a blind person, the only way to use a mobile phone without accessibility software is to know it by heart. That is, you need to know that if you press the Menu key and scroll down four times, you will be at the Message folder. And, when you get there, it is necessary to press the right softkey to open Options. It and #8217;s difficult to learn the different functions and memorize them. This makes the phone largely inaccessible. The Nokia Screen Reader provides a great alternative.

<u>Quote from the first post:</u> Nokia Beta Labs has released Nokia Universal Search for Symbian, see blog post. Excerpt:Try out Universal Search for Symbian to quickly find what you need
We've just released the latest beta version of Universal Search for Symbian and we and #8217;d like to get feedback the Nokia Beta Labs community.

Video: Universal Search for Symbian beta

With one query you can now find things like contacts, messages, music on a Nokia phone, or in Nokia apps like Maps and Store, and on the web. Getting the right result quickly is the key to a good Search app. Universal Search continually learns from the device and #8217;s location, usage and user preferences to deliver the most relevant results in milliseconds.

We and #8217;ve been testing the Search client for several weeks as part of a closed trial. This latest client addresses many of the issues identified by early beta testers. So we invite you to give ...
